165...here I come

Well I didn't reach my goal of weighing 175 this summer but that hasn't stopped me from setting another goal. I weighed 178.8 as of this morning but I need a new goal to get me goin' again!
This time I'm adding a little something to the plan to spice it up.
I haven't shaved since Sunday (I know I grow facial hair like Teen wolf) and I decided I'm not going to shave till I'm 165.
Haven't told Alyssa yet...she loves the beard...that was sarcasm if it didn't translate through the internet!
I'll shave the neck and trim up the sides but everything else is goin' mountain man!
I'm hopin' to get there before December.
At 165 and a gnarly beard I'll probably look like Tom Hanks in Castaway...all emaciated and dirty lookin'.

If I meet my goal before Christmas I think I'm gonna treat myself to a tattoo.
Haven't told Alyssa that either!
I want to get a treasure chest overflowing with booty that has a banner under it saying "don't store your treasure on earth" with a bunch of moths around it. Read Matthew 6:19-21 for context.
Side note: got the Vespa back today...amazing!

Tomorrow I ride!

Well...hopefully in a week or so.
Most of my Redding peeps have no idea that I have a Vespa.
A 2003 Grand Turismo...and it's mint green...don't be jealous.
Ever since I moved up here it's been out of commission. Battery and other issues.
I've had it on the road for about a combined 2 hours.
In Riverside I was on that bad boy every day.
Well Gafner and I got it onto his truck today and it's going to the shop tomorrow.
I finally found a place that services Vespa's.
Hopefully I'll be back riding soon...just in time for it to start raining!

Prepare for the gun show

Dang...I got some hairy forearms!
Joined a gym in Redding today. Just like Riverside...$12 a month for me...$9 a month to add Alyssa...and they have childcare for a dollar an hour...and it's month to month...I can quit any time. I had to refinance my house to go to a gym down south.
I'd just go outside and walk to work out but it's freezin' buns up here. I rode my Vespa for two miles today and I couldn't feel my feet for half an hour after I got off...good times!

The truck dilemma

So I think I'm keeping my truck. The problem is I'm trying to become as eco-friendly as possible these days and my truck gets about 1/2 a mile to the gallon. It's a huge monstrosity and I feel very bro-tastic cruising around town in it. But I've come to the conclusion that having a big truck is really nice to have around. I just moved my brother last month. I knocked down a room at Bill's house today and took everything to the dump. I'm moving a refrigerator for Jon next week. Plus Jon and Kathy and Steve and Karen are moving this month. I put about 1,000 miles a year on the truck so I just dropped the insurance to the lowest coverage...bought some used tires today for $100 bucks (because I was on the verge of killing someone on the road with my bald tires that you could see the steel radials cutting through!)...and I'm offering the use of my truck to any of my friends that need help. So don't go out and buy a huge truck that you can't afford...mine is paid off and you can use it whenever you need it. That will help with my rationale for keeping it around. I figure I've used every friend I've ever had in the 7 or 8 moves I've had to this point in my life. It's my turn to start showing the love. I'm also committing to only using the truck for emergencies when I have to take the kids and Alyssa has the car, or I'm using it for what it was made for...hauling and dumping! That means I'm buying rain gear for my Vespa and you will see me on that bad boy even if its 107 outside. If it gets to 108 I'm takin' the truck. I've got my limits.

Can somebody please invent...

something that I can put over the seat of my Vespa so it isn't 430 degrees when I go to sit down on it and get third degree burns on my bum? The prices you pay for 70 miles to the gallon!
