Bush visits Redding

The prez is comin' to Redding tomorrow. I'm gonna make my way to Air Force one and see if he'll sponsor me for Hackfest. I heard Bush is pumped on the Stirring's first church plant so I'm thinkin' I can get at least 20 bucks out of him. Keep your fingers crossed!

actually, the congress (both the senate and the house) is split 54% to 46%. dem to rep. (not including the 2 independents)
that is according to the congress.org website.
second, i think most politicians are spineless...and or mindless. democrat or republican mean nothing really because nothing really gets done. they pass legislation and said legislation is tied up in lawsuits for decades. the president vetoes something and it goes back to another sub-committee for review. another 6 months...year. it is the illusion that our system works...but who is it really working for? (and no, i don't mean the poor, minorities etc...i mean all americans.)
i don't like george bush. i don't respect him...i do respect the office but the same goes for bill clinton. what a disgusting human being...who happened to be president. he will never be respected by me...but i will respect the "office" and whatever that entails historically. i think i am allowed to make that distinction.
btw, who said anything about anyone schooling anyone else? that isn't the point...to "one-up" me? i think george bush has done way to many things wrong during his administration. opinion? maybe. my opinion based on his record through my own perspective? sure. but i could say the same thing about nancy pelosi...what a moron. politicians lie to us. they misuse tax money. they cover up. they flat out don't do what we supposedly send them to d.c. to do. work for US.
obama, bush, pelosi...only minor differences separate them...maybe a few social issues but they all operate within a system that i believe doesn't work for you and for me. so me having the presupposition that it doesn't "work" leads me to view politicians as vacant, spineless bodies who push a lot of paper and talk about a lot of "issues" but in the end nothing really gets done. they all violate the constitution. they all hide the truth. time will tell if either you or i are right...right?

sorry dan for another post.

hey, maybe i shouldn't have called him a moron. actually i shouldn't have. that was not appropriate. my opinion of him hasn't changed but it wasn't right for me to call him that.
i am not a democrat or republican. i am a cynic...to a fault when it comes to politics...and no, i didn't get that from howard zinn. i agree with some of his writing. i also read edmund morgan, gordon wood and david mccullugh...who probably don't share the same view of history as zinn or chomsky etc...
and i agree with some of what they write. we are coming from different places but this isn't a "who knows more" battle. we have formed our opinions because we have been exposed to different things. ultimately our "ends" are the same. we want to live in a country that works. without stupid crap.
sound good?
