Classic Life Group moment

Last night we are closing our Love and Respect group in prayer. Alyssa is praying and as the word amen is coming out of her mouth Tracy's phone goes off and it's Marvin Gaye's "Let's get it on." I started dying laughing, it was the greatest ending to a prayer in the history of prayer.

This is the only small group moment that tops that one...

We are sitting around in a circle in our first house in Riverside. We open our eyes from prayer and our dog Jonas has laid a hot piping loaf right in the center of our circle.

And weeks before that Jonas ate Philippians 2 out of Kyle's Bible...classic! I hated that dog.

Share your best small group moment...

Once we were sitting around giving life updates. This one girl Maggie was talking about a situation with her dog. She said, "...and the damn dog...". She just kept talking, but some of us looked at each other like, "Did she really just say something about her 'damn' dog?".

She must have noticed the odd looks on our faces and thought about what she had just said because she gasped and said, "Oh shit!". After that she buried her face in her hands. She was so embarrassed, but it was hilarious.

It was probably one of those you-had-to-be-there moments, but it was definitely the funniest thing that I've ever experienced in a small group (life group) meeting. We still laugh about it when she comes into town.

Sorry for taking your blog to PG-13. Feel free to delete my comment if you want to keep it more family friendly.
