Love him or hate him...

he's the best baseball player to ever put on a pair of cleats. Bonds has been my favorite baseball player since he was on the Pirates playing with Bobby Bonilla and Andy VanSlyke. All you haters out there need to come to the understanding that there has never been a sweeter swing of the bat. And yes for all of you that are thoroughly confused. I was a jock for years before I turned into a music guy. I really hope he breaks the record in front of the Dodgers...how epic would that be!!??

but would he be as great if he had not been on drugs?
i think not.

yeah yeah, innocent til proven guilty, yadda yadda...

:)

on the flipside...i care less about the dodgers. i just think it would be great to hear all the boos in unison if he does break the record. don't think he'd get that great of response elsewhere. united booing is always fun. :)

I disagree on the "never been a sweeter swing of the bat" comment. I give that title to Ken Griffey, Jr.

I've been a Jr. fan for a long time. Oh, what could've been.

I can't wait until a month after he breaks it. Maybe then some of the hype will have died down.

drugs? seriously? i could take steroids for years and never be able to hit a baseball like barry does. no matter how strong you are steriods does nothing for your eye/hand coordination. if it did all the dudes from the WWF would be switching careers to make millions of dollars hitting homeruns. steroids have nothing to do with his amazing athletic ability.

i was at the game last night. i'm a dodger fan but dodger fans are awful. they chanted, in unison, barry sucks. that is just dumb.

Griffey does have an amazing swing. In baseball I always tried to emulate Bonds and Griffey. I am a lefty! Yeah, I would love to see where Griffey would be today if he would have stayed healthy.
And just in case anyone thinks about bringing Alex Rodriguez into this conversation...let me cut it off prematurely by saying he can't even chew the same kind of seeds that Bonds eats!!!

if steroids did nothing to make someone hit a ball harder, why make it illegal?

stronger muscles = more power, no?

hand/eye coordination is important, of course...but add a bit more muscle to that and more home runs can be made.

duuuuuuude i totally forgot about griffy. ah the good ol days.
